The Basics - Techniques

These classes are offered to teach students very basic techniques that can be used to make numerous jewelry designs.  These classes are a good starting point for beginners. They are designed to provide a solid foundation and serve as preparation for project classes which require intermediate to advanced skills and involve more complex designs.

 

Bead Stringing Basics 101

Bead Stringing Basics 101 is a very comprehensive three hour class that covers all the ins & outs of learning to make beautiful jewelry with a professionally finished look.  You’ll learn about materials, tools, design & color theory, sourcing, and the actual engineering techniques behind handcrafting jewelry pieces.  You can expect to leave with a ton of information, a gorgeous necklace and a pair of earrings that you’ve crafted yourself!  Sign up early, spaces are limited to 6 students.

Age 18 & up.  3 hours.  $45.00

 

Bracelets!

Love bracelets?  Join Kat and learn the tricks of producing single strand, a multi-strand, or a watch bracelet.  Sizing is tricky when it comes to bracelets.  Learn the formula for getting it right every time.  Sign up early, spaces are limited to 6 students.

Earring Basics

Learn to perfect your looping technique and make a multitude of different earrings.  Using a variety of materials and beads like pearls, glass, crystal, chain, wood, and metal components, you’ll create stunning earrings for yourself or to give as gifts.  Sign up early, spaces are limited to 6 students.

Wire Working Basics I

In Wire Working Basics I, we’ll explore basic wire techniques to make your own Toggle and “S” clasps, jump rings, and bails.  Additionally you’ll learn about terms, tools, materials, and techniques such as open and closed wraps, and hammering. Sign up early, spaces are limited to 6 students.

Wire Working Basics II

Expand your knowledge after completing WWB I. In this second class, you’ll learn how to make an assortment of links, charms, coiled and caged beads, and embellished pendants.  This class provides a good way to practice those earlier skills and perfect them with new technique.  Sign up early, spaces are limited to 6 students.
